Terms of Service

Last updated: June 24, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Blur The Video (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the service

Blur The Video is a browser-based tool that lets you blur, pixelate, or black out regions of a video and export the result. All processing happens locally in your browser; your footage is not uploaded to us. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You must own, or have the necessary rights and permissions to edit, any video you process.
  • You may not use the Service to break the law, including to tamper with, fabricate, or conceal evidence, or to evade lawful obligations.
  • You may not attempt to abuse, reverse engineer, or circumvent the payment or unlock system.
  • You are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to your use and your content.

4. Redaction is not guaranteed to be irreversible

This is important. Blurring and pixelation reduce the visibility of information, but they do not guarantee that the underlying content cannot be recovered or inferred, and detection of what to hide is entirely up to you. You are solely responsible for reviewing your exported video and confirming that the redaction is sufficient for your purposes before sharing it. For highly sensitive material, consider a solid block effect and independent verification. We make no warranty that any region is fully or permanently anonymized.

5. Payments and refunds

The Service is free to use with a small watermark on exports. To remove the watermark you may purchase a one-time unlock for a single video (USD $0.99) or lifetime access for unlimited videos (USD $19.99). These are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.

Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record; your purchase is also subject to Paddle's terms. Because exports are delivered instantly as digital goods, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase — contact us if something went wrong.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the videos you create and process — we claim no ownership over your content. The Service itself, including its software, design, and branding, remains our property.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Export support depends on your browser's capabilities.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service — including any consequences of footage you shared believing it was adequately redacted. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or discontinue the Service, or restrict access for violations of these Terms or unlawful use, at our discretion.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
